Graduation ceremonies

Tuesday 19 to Thursday 21 November 2024 

Ceremony venue: Theatre Royal Plymouth, Royal Parade, Plymouth PL1 2TR.

Collection of tickets, academic dress and photography on the day will be located at Council House, Armada Way, Plymouth PL1 2AA. This is a five minute walk from the ceremony venue.

Additional important dates

Students with outstanding tuition fee debt with the university are not eligible to attend their ceremony or receive their certificate. Outstanding balances must be cleared by Tuesday 29 October 2024. 

Eligibility

Only students whose awards have been confirmed by their faculty office before the 29 October 2024 can attend the graduation ceremony. If you are unsure about your eligibility, please contact your faculty office. If you are a postgraduate student that is due to receive your result later in November you are not eligible to attend the November ceremonies and will be invited to attend a ceremony during the week beginning 10 February 2025. 
Students and guests are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and other costs, and should ensure that such arrangements include appropriate cancellation and amendment rights, or that they have obtained appropriate insurance to cover such cancellation, amendments or losses.    

Important information about receiving your certificate

Collaborative programmes

If you studied a collaborative programme with a partner institution, please contact your institution for information about your certificate.

Non-collaborative programmes

Once your award has been conferred, your degree certificate will be posted to the home address you have registered on your student portal. Please ensure this information is up to date and correct. You can update your home address by logging in to the Student Portal. 
Certificates posted to UK addresses are sent using Royal Mail second class. Certificates posted to international addresses are sent using standard international airmail (this is not a tracked service and can take up to 28 days to arrive). 
If your home address is overseas and you wish to receive your certificate by tracked DHL Express Worldwide courier, please contact examsandawards@plymouth.ac.uk, who will guide you accordingly. Please note that the cost for tracked DHL delivery is £20.
 

Update your contact details

It is a requirement of all students to keep their contact details up to date. This includes a residential full address (including postcode/area code/country), telephone number, mobile number and personal email address. Please ensure that you check and update your details regularly. Instructions on how to update your details can be found on the Student Portal.
