This resource explains the University's curriculum structure and the student data platforms, and teaching and learning systems that are used in its management, delivery and organisation.
EndNote
EndNote Online enables you to keep track of the bibliographic references you discover through the course of your literature searching and works with Microsoft Word to enable automatic formatting of references in your documents.
Jisc online surveys
The Jisc online survey tool is a powerful, easy to use tool for creating online surveys tool. Specifically designed for Academic Research, Education and Public Sector organisations, it allows you to develop, deploy, and analyse surveys via the web.
Leganto
Leganto is the University's reading list management system and is fully integrated with Primo and Moodle. It provides students with easy access to all course materials through a single interface.
LinkedIn Learning
Freely available to all students and staff, 24/7, LinkedIn Learning is a continually growing and evolving library of training videos and tutorials, covering a wide range of software, technologies and business topics.
Mentimeter
Mentimeter allows you to build interactive presentations by adding questions, polls, quizzes, slides, images, gifs and more - to make them more engaging and fun.
Mindview
Mind mapping software which enables the planning and structuring of essays in a visual format. Export plans into MS Word, as a MS Excel spreadsheet, or on a predesigned PowerPoint template. Organise projects and essays using the timeline facility.
Moodle/DLE
Moodle is the University's virtual learning environment, delivering course content and providing engaging online activities for students. Moodle is the core of the Digital Learning Environment (DLE) at the University of Plymouth.
Online classlists (staff)
Created by, and linked to the main timetabling system, online class lists show the automated workshop and tutorial groups, to which students have been allocated within any module. It also provides a summary of students enrolled on a module at any time.
Panopto
The University's online media platform for teaching and learning. Available as an app on your mobile device, or on the desktop. Record lectures to share with learners, or create video podcasts and screencasts for blended or online learning activities.
Pebblepad
PebblePad is the University's web-based ePortfolio and Personal Learning system, available to all staff and students. It can be used independently for PPD (Personal and Professional Development), or as part of assessed activities within the curriculum.
Primo
Primo is the University's main library tool, providing access to your library account, databases, eJournals, inter-library loans, eBooks and more.
S4 Student Success System (staff)
S4 brings together information relating to individual students, in a single place. It is accessed through the Salesforce platform, and is available to University staff with a Salesforce login via their University IT Account.
Software Center (staff)
The University provides many applications for business use and for teaching and learning purposes. These are managed centrally and made available, either by installing them on your machine, or to access via the University Software Center.
Timetables
The University's timetables are online, to enable staff and students to see when different modules are being taught, and at which location. Students can access their timetable via the mobile app.
Turnitin
Turnitin is an originality checking service available to students. It is provided as a tool within Moodle, using text matching software, to help develop best practice for using and citing other people's work.
UNIT-e (staff)
UNIT-e is the University's Student Record System (SRS) holding all student data relating to study, and personal and course-related information. Staff access to UNIT-e is via MarkBook and Student access is via the statements of results page on the DLE.
Xerte
Xerte is an e-learning tool for creating reusable learning objects with rich interactivity. It enables the creation of accessible, interactive, engaging e-learning resources, with no programming knowledge required.
Zoom
Zoom is a web conferencing tool that enables online communication, collaboration and interaction between users in a variety of ways.
Tools specifically for Peninsula Medical and Peninsula Dental Schools
Form2
Form squared (or Form2) is a form authoring and distribution system that enables the online completion of electronic forms. It is primarily used by the Peninsula Medical and Peninsula Dental Schools to replace paper based assessment forms.
Pulse
A system featuring a collection of bespoke functionalities built on the University’s Salesforce implementation, encompassing the entire student journey. It is used by staff and students within the Peninsula Medical and Peninsula Dental Schools.
