Placements for health and medical students are usually based throughout the South West region, to maximise the range of experience you will gain throughout your course. Therefore you may need to live away from home during your placement.
Students are responsible for their own accommodation during placements however there are halls available in Truro and Taunton.
 

Treliske Hall, Truro

Treliske Hall in Truro is located just outside of Truro on the Royal Cornwall Hospital site. It's ideally situated for medical, nursing and dental students training at Treliske Hospital in Cornwall.
There are over 130 rooms with double beds, both en suite and shared bathroom facilities are available. Each flat also contains a stylish kitchen/lounge area which is fully fitted with modern furniture and appliances. These halls of residence are available to students from the University who are working or studying on the Treliske Hospital site.
The complex is divided over seven blocks, each block consists of eight flats, with three, four or five rooms per flat.

Canonsgrove Halls of Residence, Taunton

Canonsgrove Hall of Residence is available for medical, nursing and dental students who are training at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
Canonsgrove is owned and operated by Bridgwater and Taunton College. While you’ll be living with other University of Plymouth students in Mendip Block, the site is shared with other medical students from the University of Bristol and with medical professionals working at Musgrove Park Hospital, so you’ll have plenty of people to socialise with.
There are 52 rooms available at Canonsgrove, most of which are en suite rooms in a shared six or seven bedroom flat. Alternatively, if you’d prefer your own space you can choose to book a room in a self-contained two-bedroom flat with shared bathroom facilities.
Facilities
Each flat comes with a modern kitchen and appliances including a TV for you to share with your flatmates.
The TV Licence for the TV in your kitchen is already provided for you by Bridgwater and Taunton College. If you want to have your own personal TV in your room, then you will need to organise your own TV Licence for this.

Cost: £155 per week. Total annual rent: £6,975 (for a 45-week licence).

Large en suite room

Cost: £160 per week. Total annual rent: £7,200 (for a 45-week licence).

Cost: £165 per week. Total annual rent: £7,425 (for a 45-week licence).

Bathroom facilities: shared bathroom facilities including shower, toilet and sink.
