All rooms in Mary Newman Hall are en suite and there is lift access to all floors. There are two types of room available to book in Mary Newman Hall: standard en suite rooms and large en suite rooms.
Please note that all prices listed below are correct for the 2024-25 intake.
Room type – standard en suite (106):
  • Cost: £199 per week. Total annual rent: £8,159 (for a 41-week licence).
  • Floor size: average 11.8m².
  • Bed size: single bed (can be 6’9” to 7” long) with under-bed storage.
  • Facilities: shelving, wardrobe, desk, chair and notice board, en suite bathroom with shower (wet room).
Room type – large en suite (48):
  • Cost: £207 per week. Total annual rent: £8,487 (for a 41-week licence).
  • Floor size: average 14.3m².
  • Bed size: single bed (can be a long single or up to a ¾ double) with under-bed storage.
  • Facilities: shelving, wardrobe, desk, chair and notice board, en suite bathroom with shower (wet room).

Location

Mary Newman is conveniently situated in the middle of the vibrant University campus and has 157 rooms in total. The hall is only five minutes away from the city centre, and seconds away from the Students’ Union, library, gym and lecture theatres. Opposite the hall is Drake’s Reservoir with its own café and gardens to relax in, and there are other cafes in close proximity on the main campus and on North Hill.
