Situated in the Student Village directly opposite the main University campus, Gilwell Hall has a really strong community feel and it's a great place to meet new people. With the city centre literally on your doorstep, you'll find everything you need within a few minutes' walk.

Room types and prices

All flats in Gilwell Hall have shared facilities. This means that residents in Gilwell Hall have their own private washbasin in their room and share a separate shower room and toilet with their flatmates.
There are two types of room available to book in Gilwell Hall: standard shared facilities rooms and loft shared facilities rooms.
Please note that all prices listed below are correct for the 2024-25 intake.
Room type – standard shared facilities room (144): standard rooms are spread over 4 floors of Gilwell Hall.
  • Cost: £128.50 per week. Total annual rent: £5,268.50 (for a 41-week licence).
  • Floor size: approximately 9m².
  • Bed size: single bed
  • Bedroom facilities: shelving, wardrobe, desk and chair, sink in room, shared bathrooms – communal shower room (one shower per six people).
Room type – loft shared facilities room (52): only available on the top floor, with an apex roof and Velux window.
  • Cost: £128.50 per week. Total annual rent: £5,268.50 (for a 41-week licence).
  • Floor size: approximately 9m².
  • Bed size: single bed
  • Bedroom facilities: shelving, wardrobe, desk and chair, sink in room, shared bathrooms – communal shower room (one shower per six people).

Five or six students per flat in Gilwell Hall.
