Room types and prices

There are two types of rooms available to book in Francis Drake: you can either book a standard en suite room or an en suite room within a three bedroom flat.
Please note that all prices listed below are correct for the 2024-25 intake.
Room type – standard en suite (288):
  • Cost: £199 per week. Total annual rent: £8,159 (for a 41-week licence).
  • Floor size: approximately 12m².
  • Bed size: single bed (can be 6’9” to 6’10” long) with under bed storage.
  • Facilities: shelving, wardrobe, desk, chair and notice board, en suite bathroom with shower (wet room).
Room type – en suite room within a three bedroom flat (21):
  • Cost: £200.50 per week. Total annual rent: £8,220.50 (for a 41-week licence).
  • Floor size: approximately 12m².
  • Bed size: single bed (can be 6’9” to 6’10” long) with under bed storage.
  • Facilities: shelving, wardrobe, desk, chair and notice board, en suite bathroom with shower (wet room).

Location

Francis Drake Hall is located over three blocks and is conveniently situated in the middle of the vibrant University campus. The hall is only five minutes away from the city centre and seconds away from the Students’ Union, library and lecture theatres. It also benefits from having the popular campus restaurant Drake’s Kitchen right opposite, so if you fancy a break from cooking it is the ideal place. There are also other cafés close by, including the Reservoir Café with its lovely view and garden area.
