Accommodation UPP halls Radnor Pilgrim
Once you have confirmed the University as your firm first choice on UCAS, you will receive an email containing a link to our Accommodation Portal, which will open for applications in early February.
If you have already confirmed us as your firm choice, you will receive an email notification once the Portal opens. Once the Portal closes, you will then only be able to apply for accommodation if you secure your place through Clearing.
We guarantee a place in halls (either University-managed or with an accredited private provider) to all new undergraduate students who make Plymouth their firm first choice, apply by 7 July 2025 and are eligible under our terms and conditions.

Step 1: Select your hall

Browse our halls of residence options, we offer a range of halls and room types to fit all budgets and requirements. We recommend making a list of all the halls that would suit your requirements.

Step 2: Create an account on the Accommodation Portal

  • Visit the Accommodation Portal and select 'Set password'.
  • Enter the email address used on your application to University and then enter your 8 digit student number (this number will be on any correspondence you receive from our admissions team).
  • You will receive an email containing a link asking you to set a password, this email can take up to 24 hours to receive and the link will be valid for 1 hour – remember to check your junk mail.

Step 3: Complete application

  • Log in using your newly set up password.
  • Select 'room application' and complete the form.
  • If you have a disability or medical condition please ensure you list all adaptations and requirements relating to your accommodation.
Please note: The portal shows our current availability so if a room type is not visible then this means it has sold out. Rooms will become available again once licences are sent out and we work through any cancellations in the summer.

Step 4: Sign your room licence and get ready to move in

  • Before the end of July, we will invite you to log on to the Accommodation Portal to sign your licence agreement (see example licence ) and make your two week advance rent payment. This payment is week 1 and week 2 of your overall rent, paid in advance. It is not a deposit and is therefore not returned to you at the end of your licence.
Please note: only the student intending to live in the room can sign the licence agreement.
  • At the end of August you will receive an email containing your move-in day date and time slot, your flat number, route maps and parking permits. More information on move-in day can be found on our arrival information webpage.
  • Check out our things to bring to university list.

How do I pay for my accommodation?

Once you have signed your licence agreement and paid your two weeks' advance rent, further instalments are due around October, January and April.
