What is the type of leadership we need to drive positive change?

Does our leadership reflect the diversity and complexity of the climate challenge ahead of us?

In the run up to UN COP26 in Glasgow, join guest speakers and panellists to explore a more inclusive, regenerative and diverse leadership that could enable collaborative and hands-on action towards a low carbon future.

  • Will Powell and Oscar Gue from Future Shift – sustainability consultants, founded off of the belief that all businesses deserve equal access to quality sustainability, reporting and certifications. They have developed a fresh approach to implementing sustainable change that empowers people within small businesses to shift to a future we want to see.

  • Michela Ravaglia (Stride Treglown) – leading through collaboration within the construction industry – Senior Associate Architect and Certified Passivhaus Designer – a major focus of Michela’s current work is leading the company’s Net Zero Carbon and Passivhaus Strategy, she’ll also be sharing insights from Stride Treglown’s Climate Action Relay in the countdown to COP26.

  • Dr Rachel Manning – Associate Research Fellow – Future Leaders Programme (University of Plymouth) – sharing insights into developing young leaders and graduates. Rachel has recently completed a PhD exploring the role of environmental and experimental education in enhancing wellbeing.

  • Tom Deacon – being a good ancestor – Tom is part of Catalista – a collective of facilitators creating and offering empowering programmes for young adult changemakers. Tom draws great inspiration from weaving and facilitating lived experiences in nature with transformative processes rooted in nature connection, systems science, well-being and universal values. He will explore what it takes to be a “leader for positive change” in the face of climate crisis.

Inspire Ambition: Purposeful Business is part of the System Shift – Low Carbon Devon event series which facilitates proactive conversation with curious and courageous doers, creative thinkers and leaders at the forefront of change. These events aim to explore what a zero carbon future might look like, the bold and systemic change required and how we can imagine a world where people and planet flourish.

Open to all – business and enterprise leaders and staff, members of the public, researchers, community groups, students and those who are curious and looking for a dose of inspiration to help tackle the climate challenge.
