Low Carbon Devon and Green Minds, Plymouth City Council would like to invite you to attend ‘Grey to Green’, an event for anyone involved in planning and development and looking to integrate green roofs and walls into new development or retro-fitted on their existing business premises across Plymouth and the South West. Come and find out what the opportunities are.

Join international green roof and wall expert Dusty Gedge and Plymouth based biophilic designer Robert Bedner of Cura Design as they identify obstacles and opportunities in creating a road map for Plymouth to move from ‘Grey to Green’ by 2030.

Dusty Gedge is an international speaker on green roofs, green infrastructure and biodiversity, the current President of the European Federation of Green Roof Associations (EFB), founder of Livingroofs.org and World Green Roof Day, and a board member of GRO – the UK green roof trade body. His work in the built environment focuses on biodiversity, climate resilience and the promotion of greener cities through multi-functional green infrastructure.

Robert Bedner has extensive international architectural experience working with acclaimed practitioners across Europe and the USA. Robert is a Chartered Architectural Technologist and managing director of Cura Design which provides architectural and biophilic design services for residential, commercial, healthcare and cultural projects in southwest UK and further afield.

An event for anyone involved in planning, development or looking to integrate green infrastructure within their business across Plymouth and the South West.

Our expert speakers will use global to local examples to examine the importance of green infrastructure and biophilic design for creating sustainable and resilient urban landscapes. Using both global and local perspectives, speakers will tackle policy and planning conditions associated with green infrastructure, discuss integration of biophilic principles into urban design and architecture, and outline how cities like Plymouth could lead the way in a transition from grey to green.

Also hear from Dr Thomas Murphy, Green Wall Industrial Research Fellow, Low Carbon Devon as he discusses his latest green walls research and collaboration with Devon based businesses.
