BOOST is a National Institute for Health Research, Research for Patient Benefit funded study for people with advanced liver cirrhosis, sponsored by University Hospital Plymouth NHS Trust and managed by the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit .
This project aims to address the lack of treatment options for people with liver cirrhosis by testing whether the dietary supplement beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB) improves their physical function and quality of life.
