This event took place on 18 August 2024.
While net-zero targets are national, energy infrastructure and usage vary enormously from one county to another, not to mention the potential for low-carbon energy solutions.
To translate national targets into local energy system action, local authorities in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset are beginning to develop energy system plans based on a range of future energy scenarios. These plans explore the different ways to decarbonise our energy system as we strive toward net-zero carbon emissions.
At this event, National Grid Electricity Distribution, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks Distribution and Regen outlined the context of current energy usage and potential future energy scenarios, followed by representatives from local authorities in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset providing an overview of their activity to deliver net-zero energy plans.
Target audience
