Hand putting money into a piggy bank

The University of Plymouth is giving away £10,000, split between 10 lucky students, thanks to funding from Santander.
The Brighter Futures Grant has been developed in partnership with Santander Universities, aimed at providing students with funding to support their studies.
Grants can be spent on anything from placements, internships, complementary courses, or even support with a once-in-a-lifetime trip as students reach their summer break.
The grants are available to all current University of Plymouth students including undergraduates, postgraduates, foundation year, part-time and full-time students. And entrants do not need to be a Santander customer.
Students can apply for the £1,000 grants until Thursday 15 May.

Santander Brighter Futures winners 2024-25

I am incredibly grateful to have received the ‘Santander Universities Brighter Futures Grant’, especially as I approach the final stages of my dissertation.

This extra support allows me to focus fully on my studies without the added financial pressure caused by fewer shifts during January at my part-time job. It also gives me the freedom to enjoy time with my friends and look forward to my upcoming holidays without the worries of financial strain.

I am beyond grateful to be a recipient of the Brighter Futures Scholarship and the knowledge of being considered, let alone selected for such a generous award has provided me with much appreciation.

This award will benefit me greatly throughout my time at university, helping to fund travel and accommodation expenses for the placements provided by my course.

This grant means a great deal for myself, this will relieve a huge amount of pressure off my shoulders.

It will allow me to focus primarily on my academic efforts...thanks again.

The Santander Brighter Futures Grant is a huge investment in my career and personal development, and I am immensely honoured to have been awarded it.

This opportunity encourages me to keep aiming for excellence while also relieving some of the financial strain of chasing my objectives. It serves as a reminder that greater opportunities can be unlocked with perseverance, hard effort, and the backing of amazing projects like this one. I sincerely appreciate Santander's confidence in me, and I hope to use this help to improve my community, career, and academic performance.
