InterCity Place named Regeneration Project of the Year at Construction News Awards 2024
The building has been transformed into a sustainable and state-of-the-art facility for our nurses, midwives and allied health professionals

The InterCity Place project has taken an iconic building and transformed it into a facility that will have a lasting impact on our students and staff, the city of Plymouth and beyond. Its successful regeneration has been achieved through considerable innovation and collaboration. This award is a reward for everyone connected to the University and its partners who have worked to make that happen.
Mr Trevor Wills
Director of Estates & Facilities
We love it when our teams, supply chain and partners are recognised for their skill and talents. Building refurbishment projects like this require huge amounts of collaboration from all parties to deliver successful outcomes. Working with the University of Plymouth, and others including Plymouth City Council and Network Rail, we have created a facility that everyone involved – and the city and region as a whole – can be proud of.
InterCity Place complements existing clinical facilities and creates an unrivalled location where undergraduate and postgraduate students from a variety of disciplines learn together under one roof.
