A dental academic from Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry has received a prestigious European award.
Kamran Ali, who is a clinical senior lecturer, is one of two recipients of the Association for Dental Education in Europe’s (ADEE) 40th Anniversary Scholarship.
Kamran will receive a monetary award which will go towards fees related to his PhD programme in Dentistry (Dental Education) which is titled: “Preparedness of dental graduates for foundation training.”
The scholarship programme recognises the research of ADEE members in the advancement of dental education. The ADEE Executive considered Kamran’s work to be of relevance and importance to its mission and objectives.
Kamran will receive his award at the ADEE meeting in Szeged, Hungary, in August.
Professor Christopher Tredwin, Head of Plymouth University Peninsula School of Dentistry, said:
“Our congratulations go to Kamran for this most significant achievement. Ensuring our dental students are fully competent and ready to enter the workplace when they graduate is key to our ongoing success, which is why Kamran’s PhD project is so important. We are delighted that his work has received this international attention.”
