Julian Kin Hong Wong: BSc (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering
"I chose to study BSc (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering because engineering has always been a subject which I have an interest in ever since in my secondary education.
I chose Plymouth University as I heard many good things regarding this University, but most importantly the University’s principle of focusing on practical application really influenced my choice. I feel that practical experience is very important because we will need all these skills when working in industries and it is an essential tool for engineers to apply what they learnt in theory to practical exercise.
The facilities that the University provides for its engineering students are simply the best and it has all of the equipment needed for students to carry out their practical exercises.
Plymouth is a beautiful and peaceful city; the view from Plymouth Hoe is simply magnificent.
Adapting to the sudden change in culture took a while but everything else was fine; all of the people here are really friendly. A student ambassador helped me to settle in to student life at Plymouth.
University can be expensive however I personally felt that going to university is an essential part of a student’s life as it is a major stepping stone for them to gain a competitive advantage when they apply for a job.
My advice to someone considering studying at Plymouth: try to make the most out of your time, you need to have a balance between studying and having fun."
