The Life Sciences Resource Centre (LSRC) is an outstanding teaching and learning facility for healthcare professionals. We have an extensive range of modern resources designed to best support your study, whether attending taught sessions or during self-directed learning, the LSRC will empower you to succeed to your full potential.
You will experience world class interdisciplinary teaching by a highly dedicated and experienced staff who will prepare and support you in your journey to become a health care professional. Through our creative approach to teaching, you will engage with our anatomage tables, use ultrasound simulators, interact with our simulated patients, and use molecular and anatomical models from day one.
Anatomage tables
The Anatomage system helps you learn your Anatomy by building or dissecting structures and relating them to their medical imaging histology and physiology. You can use them whenever the LSRC is open
Molecular models
Visualising molecular structures is essential for understanding the fundamental mechanisms of biomedical science. Our custom-printed 3-D models, with interactive magnetic components, bring the smallest parts of the biggest concepts to life
Anatomical models
These models are accurate 3D jigsaws that allow you to build your spatial awareness of how structures sit together
Medical imaging
Simulation equipment provides ultra-realistic patient simulation with anatomical landmarks and ultrasound data, enhanced by the ability to manage vital signs as in real life scenarios
Surface Anatomy Models
The team of surface anatomy models will be your first 'patients'. They will help you build your palpation and communication skills, while you also identify the surface landmarks that you need for your clinical skills examinations
Study space
The LSRC teaching rooms and resources are available for you to use for private study, small group work and peer to peer teaching
The LSRC department is my favourite place to learn and revise, it's a calm environment to study either with friends or by yourself. It has all the resources I could possibly need - there is clinical skills equipment, comprehensive anatomy models, great study rooms and super lovely staff!
