The Community Home Suite consists of a kitchen and living room area, bathroom, and bedroom, and includes a wide range of assistive equipment and technology.
Situated in InterCity Place, it offers occupational therapy students the opportunity to practice their skills and apply their learning in a secure simulated environment. The space can be adapted to replicate a wide range of situations that may be encountered in professional practice, such as completing various assessments and using assistive technology. It therefore supports students to develop their clinical reasoning, communication skills, and confidence in supporting service users to live meaningful lives in their own homes.
The suite is also our midwifery students to simulate home birth scenarios and by our dietetics students.
