Body and Soul in Peril: Medieval Europe c.1000-1435
This module examines spiritual and physical challenges to medieval society. ‘Heresy and Inquisition’ investigates the spread of unorthodox beliefs and the Church's various responses to them, while ‘The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Plague, Famine, War and Death in Europe’s Worst Century, c.1300-1415’ examines the impact of these and society’s responses to them.

Understanding Buildings
This module investigates how to analyse, record and date buildings in Britain from the late medieval period to the present day, with particular focus on vernacular and church (places of worship) architecture; architectural history, building practice and chronology, building types, styles, technologies, materials and periods and construction methods.

Archaeology and Landscapes
This seminar-based module explores the archaeology and cultural heritage of landscape and the built environment; the importance, significance and meaning of landscape and the built environment; and how and why humankind interacts with it/them. The approach taken will be thematic and theoretical and will involve exploring a wide variety of landscapes/ built environments from a range of perspectives.

*UK Government announcement on tuition fees
Following an announcement in November, the government has confirmed its intention to increase undergraduate tuition fees for the 2025/26 academic year.
Subject to final Parliamentary approval (expected in early March 2025), the tuition fee for UK students is increasing to a maximum of £9,535 from 1 August 2025. This change applies to current and new students at the University of Plymouth. The Student Loans Company (SLC) has confirmed loans for tuition fees will be increased accordingly.
