It’s always great to hear what our graduates have been up to and where a History with Politics degree from the University of Plymouth can take you. Emma Montague (Class of 2018) tells us about her recent experience working for Senator Maria Cantwell from Washington on her re- election campaign.
Emma said:
"Following graduation, I worked as a field organizer for U.S Senator Maria Cantwell's re-election campaign, where I recruited and managed volunteers, planned events, and spoke to constituents on a daily basis. Not long after Senator Cantwell won the election, I was selected for the legislative internship in her DC office. As a legislative intern, I assisted in researching bills, attending briefings and writing memos for staff members, giving tours, and I served as the first point of contact for the office. Being a part of the legislative and administrative process, at the epicenter of government and history for the United States, has been both educational and thrilling."
