Teaching and Learning in Competency-based Osteopathic EducationThe module will cover the role of teaching in the healthcare profession. It covers theories, curriculum design and the role of competency-based learning. The module is designed to aid in developing osteopathic educators.
BCNO7016
Docimology: the science behind the assessmentThe role and structure of formative and summative assessments in osteopathic education. The role of grading theories and how to build assessments in osteopathic education.
BCNO7017
Implementation of Training: TLAIn this module the student will be able to demonstrate how conceptual educational models as well as how various tools and methodologies can be applied in the delivery of a course in a context of their choosing. Additionally, students will be able to reflect on own performance as well as on feedback from peers and near-peers in order to establish an action plan for further development. Participants will be observed in their own environment by a peer and will also be asked to record a teaching session (or part of) for feedback and assessment from tutors. In this, participants will be encouraged to use various pedagogical tools and settings within the context of Osteopathic education.
Entry requirements
UK/EU
A relevant degree with honours or an equivalent professional qualification. Other qualifications accompanied by substantial experience in an appropriate field may also be considered. Non-standard applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
International
