As a full-time student you will be expected to attend the following:
In semester one:
- Key debates and research methods in history module – one session per week.
- Your first option module – one session per week.
- Public history module – one session per week.
- Your second option module – one session per week.
You’ll also have access to the research seminar series with meetings approximately three times a term, usually on Wednesday afternoons.
You’ll work closely with a member of the history team on your dissertation, with regular tutorials scheduled to suit you both. Most supervisors will try to schedule your tutorials at times you are on campus for other events, and you should be meeting with your supervisor at least every three weeks, as well as regular contact through other means such as email.
As a part-time student you will be expected to attend the following:
In year one:
- Key debates and research methods in history module – one session per week during semester one.
- Public history module – one session per week, or outside visits such as field trips to heritage sites during semester two.
And in year two:
- Your first option module – one session per week during semester one.
- Your second option module – one session per week during semester two.
You’ll also need to schedule regular meetings with your chosen dissertation supervisor, selecting tutorial times that work best for you both. Most supervisors will try to schedule your tutorials at times you are on campus for other events, and you should be meeting with your supervisor at least every three weeks, as well as regular contact through other means such as email.
