Giving Day 2024 logo
On the 20 and 21 March, we held the University of Plymouth’s first 36-hour Giving Day, bringing together our alumni community to make a lasting impact.
We are delighted to share that over the 36 hours, 142 alumni donated to the campaign raising over £10,241 and 19 alumni donated their time. Your donations and volunteer efforts will make a lasting impact, to set free the bright minds working and studying here to pursue new ideas and change the world.
Thank you for paying it forward.

I’m donating to the University of Plymouth because their scholarship played a vital role in my MSc success. I’m playing it forward to help other needy students, grateful for the chance to give back and make a difference.

I was a care leaver at Plymouth Polytechnic before it became a university. I understand how difficult it is to focus on study when there’s no money. I hope it stops someone from giving up and leaving.

I studied a creative writing masters at Plymouth, but that isn’t my whole story. I wanted to be a nurse since I could want anything. I qualified in 1970 at a time when nurses trained on wards and were paid a salary. I know how hard it is to consider a nursing degree now. I hope my gift helps.
