Do you have a story to share?
We are always looking for news items, such as:
- breakthroughs/firsts
- research findings on topical themes
- anything quirky
- expert comment/opinion on a news situation
- news linked to the political agenda (for example, health or environment).
We can target the media for you with news releases, features and opinion articles. We proactively seek to communicate and publicise our good news and showcase our expertise as a University so if you have a story of interest to a wide and general external audience and are willing to do media interviews, contact our team to talk through the options. We can write the story, pitch it to the media and organise any interviews on your behalf.
Academic and subject specific media and PR
Have you had an academic or subject specific success? We can help you communicate, engage and influence key opinion formers. We can also help you share best practice with your peers by promoting news stories through specialist correspondents working for the regional, national or international media and target titles that are specific to one discipline – for example the Times Higher (Higher Education) or the New Scientist (Science and Technology).
We will communicate news items which are:
- unique, ground breaking or life-changing
- of interest to and impacts upon a large audience
- linked to the news/government agenda
- visually compelling (for TV, print and web).
These can include research breakthroughs, new and interesting courses, high profile appointments and state-of-the-art facilities. If you think you have a story with national potential, please contact the Media and Communications team.
Other PR activities
Our team can also help with reactive PR, including requests for expert commentary on national issues, regional and international press and PR, and showcasing media coverage of your success stories.
