The International Ocean Drilling Programme (IODP3) is an international marine research collaboration that explores Earth’s history and dynamics using ocean-going research platforms to recover data recorded in seafloor sediments and rocks and to monitor subseafloor environments. It is the successor to the current International Ocean Discovery Program, which ends this year.
Hosted by the University of Plymouth within the School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences, the IODP3 Science Office acts as the single interface for all scientists around the world wishing to engage with the programme, and is responsible for coordinating the submission and evaluation of all applications to participate and of all scientific drilling proposals submitted by the international marine science community, and for producing all IODP3 publications.
