As part of the South West Developing a Research Skilled Workplace project, we are delighted to invite you to attend our regional conference this year.
This is a one-day free event, funded by Health Education England/NHS England and hosted by the Faculty of Health, University of Plymouth.
The event will showcase and celebrate research and evidence-based projects undertaken by the health, science and social care workforce across the South West of England.
The research curious, research active and research leaders are warmly welcomed to our conference.

Conference FAQs

How can I get there?

There are many options for transport, including train, bus, coach and car. Please visit the University's Getting here webpage for information on how to help you reach our campus using green modes of transport, as well as advice on parking, accessibility and maps.

Is this an accessible venue?

Who can attend?

Any health, social care, and scientific professions in the South West region are welcome. This is an inclusive event, for anyone interested or curious in research, already actively involved in research or leading research. 

What if I am unable to register for a place?

You can register your ongoing interest on our waiting list. You will be notified of a place if one comes available. Anyone selected to present a poster or oral presentation will be automatically allocated a conference place. 

What if I cannot attend after registration?

Please contact us at researchskilledworkforce@plymouth.ac.uk if you are unable to attend the conference. This will allow us to allocate your place to a clinician on the waiting list. 

How will I access the conference presentations?

The conference is face to face, although some sessions will be recorded where possible and shared on the webpage to watch back.  

Can I pre-register for sessions?

You will be asked to pre-register your preference for the interactive workshops. 

How can I become a speaker?

You can submit an abstract for the conference, which may be selected for oral presentation. If you have an interest in chairing a session, please contact researchskilledworkforce@plymouth.ac.uk 

Is the conference recorded? Can I watch anything I missed at a later date?

Rolle Marquee conference sessions will be recorded. Some interactive workshops may not be appropriate for recording. Any recorded sessions will be made available on our webpage. You will be able to watch recordings until February 2024. 

Can I receive copies of the session and workshop handouts?

Yes, all handouts and documents will be shared on the conference events page. 

 

Event photography and video

Please be aware that some of the University of Plymouth's public events (both online and offline) may be attended by University staff, photographers and videographers, for capturing content to be used in University online and offline marketing and promotional materials, for example webpages, brochures or leaflets. If you, or a member of your group, do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please let a member of staff know.
