As part of the Planet Ocean exhibition, you're invited to The Box's Letters to the Sea workshops to enjoy some time dedicated to connecting with our precious ocean via creative writing.
Led by University of Plymouth Creative Writing Lecturer, Poet and Plymouth Laureate of Words, Dr Rosemarie Corlett, you'll work through some fun prompts, have a go at free writing and enjoy some inspiring readings.
Writing a letter is an opportunity to bring your care, concerns and fears to the page and create a loving gesture towards the natural world. How does the sea appear in your memories, your imagination, your hopes for the future? If you could send a letter to the sea, what would it say?
Your writing group will embark on a playful and curious journey, exploring the vast and mysterious world of the sea through the power of words.
Both workshops are suitable for complete beginners, experienced writers, nature lovers and those who just love being near the water.
The focus will be on self-expression, the pleasure of experimenting with language, and meeting and sharing creative writing with others.
