Professional Experience
As a diagnostic radiographer I worked clinically in both the public and independent sectors in surgical hospitals and then cardiac intervention, and as an HEI lecturer I have worked previously at the University of Salford.
I spent much of my radiography career however as a technical and teaching radiographer for the engineering multinational GE Healthcare. I began as an Applications Specialist teaching fluoroscopic x-ray systems, moved into the 6-Sigma Division when it was launched by GE to manage the quality of their processes, and then worked as and Advanced Applications Specialist in European Marketing (advertising and product development) of Catheter Lab and Intervention systems, based at that time in their factory and headquarters in Paris.
Having worked in 6-sigma as a Blackbelt (full-time project manager) and as a Greenbelt (part-time alongside one's main job) it's these experiences added to the applications training, customer service, and service and quality improvement that I bring to my teaching at the University of Plymouth.
I joined the University of Plymouth in 2020 in the 2nd year of its inception and have special interests in the technical aspects of imaging systems, and in research including Service and Quality Improvement
